One of the problems that some people must face in life is addiction. In some cases, it may be something that is considered to be mild, such as an addiction to sugar or it could be to something much more difficult. In either case, an addiction can be quite difficult to break and some people will struggle with it throughout their lifetime. Apparently, it is not only people who have this problem, it is cats as well.
I would like to introduce you to Shorty. She is a cat, and she is struggling with an addiction of her own. It isn’t a problem with catnip, she is addicted to a toy banana and you are going to laugh until you cry. In fact, she shows all of the classic signs of addiction, so there isn’t a doubt she has the problem.
Addiction is a rather complex problem and, in part, it involves chemicals in the pleasure center of the brain. When we use an addictive substance or take part in addictive behavior, those chemicals are produces and it gives us a form of euphoria. Over time, we become accustomed to that feeling and the addiction is born.
